After the words "and noting that this decomposes to" one should insert (i) a diagram consisting of a number three, surrounded by six twos shaped like a hexagon, surrounded by twelve ones shaped like a hexagon of twice the size, and (ii) the word "plus" following that diagram. This missing diagram accounts for the 27 (27=3+6*2+12*1) that appears near the middle of the same page, after the text "8x8=".
