To be considered you will need to submit a formal University application. Information on how to apply is available at the University's Graduate Admissions pages.
The first step in the application procedure is to submit your formal University application to the Board of Graduate Studies, Graduate Admissions. The process is detailed on the University's Graduate Admissions pages.
On your application, in the Research Summary section, please clearly indicate High Energy Physics and which project you are interested in. It is not necessary to nominate a prospective supervisor, although you may if you wish.
If you are interested in applying to the Theoretical Group and you are eligible for an STFC funded place it is suggested that you contact Ben Gripaios (Group Leader) before submitting an application. Due to us having a close connection with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics our STFC funded positions for Theory aren’t always held within our group and are held there instead. He should be able to advise you what do to.
When your completed application (including the necessary uploaded documents) is received within the department it will then be forwarded onto the HEP group for consideration. Those candidates who meet our academic criteria will be invited for interview.
