Its purpose is to send "enable" signal to the SIC cards in the Power Supply crates. It sends signals to the SIC card on 13 lines, 1 of which is the VCSEL current and 12 of which enable power supply channels in groups of 4. For enabling the VCSEL current, it checks that the BOC (Back Of readout Crate) door is closed. For enabling HV/LV cards, it verifies and routes the TTL signals from the IBOX which indicate low temperatures.
Instruction on updating the Matrix at the OxfordSetup :
- on PPNT162, from the Start Menu, go to Programs >> Lattice Semi Conductors >> ispLEVER Project Navigator
- Double click on file which you want to edit, i.e. for Barrel6 C://SCT_DCS/Imatrix/test_matrix_B6/master_zminus.vhd
- Change stave numbers and power supply crate numbers near to the end of this file. “1” means off, follow examples in this file: C://SCT_DCS/Imatrix/test_matrix_work/test_matrix_work_Zminus.vhd
- Compile the program by right-clicking on the project (JEDEC file)
- Change the stave number and compile the project also using the file: test_matrix_work_Zplus.vhd (or master_zplus.vhd for Barrel 6)
- Start the ispVM system from the start menu (in the Lattice Semi Conductors menu again)
- To program the matrix, connect the cable and press “GO” under Program >> Lattice Semi Conductors >> ispVM system. Check status and repeat if status does not go green in the first trial. The crate enable button should be OUT (disabled) whilst this is done.
