SCT DAQ Job List Following ID Week
12th October 2005
For SCT and Combined SCT/TRT running in SR1 December 2005 onwards
Aim: to have a suitable, tested, DAQ ready as the baseline to use by 18th November
1. Complete tests of DAQ migrated to SLC3 and tdaq-01-02-00, with modules, as the baseline system, to include all good features of release 4.2 (and more)
- List of outstanding issues/BUGs in Chris’ TDAQ1/SLC3 talk page 17 – Chris
 - Complete tests of run-time test modifications – Alan
 - Test synchronous double triggers with modules – Alan, Dave
 - Sort out TIM fixed frequency trigger veto with synchronous triggers - make these random - Alan
 - Implement Synchronous Trigger Delay Test and Synchronous Pre-Trigger Delay Test – Alan, Peter, Bruce
 - Implement improved RX threshold test to look for cross-talk – Alan, Peter
 - Implement and test reading and histogramming multiple time bins with DSP code Sct-Rod-1-12 – Peter, Bruce, Alan
 - Sort out RX-delay clck/2 – Alan, Peter

2. In parallel, study move to tdaq-01-04-00, with the aim of making this the version we use – Chris, John, Bruce
- Try at CERN to see if same VME (or DSP code 1-20) problems as seen in Cambridge - Dave
 - Decide on version to be used by end October at the latest

3. SctApi
- Implement the changes needed to support physics operation in API? –Bruce
 - Find out about toggle between physics and calibration to be consistent with ATLAS TDAQ - Chris
 - Investigate dynamic removal of modules (or will it be done in DSPs?)- Bruce and Peter will discuss
 - Histogramming in ROD in physics mode – Bruce
 - Investigate returning DDC to top API, to be able to trace config changes - Chris

4. DSP Code – Peter, Trevor?, Bruce
- Release Sct-Rod-1-12 compatibility code by end October - Peter
 - Prepare Sct_Rod-1-20 for around end December – present progress is good, so it looks probable it will be used

6. Move to private SR1 network – Dave
- Agreed this will be done (already in progress)

- No, but watch developments

8. Multi Crate DAQ – Chris
- Needed to be working system in February

9. Implementation of LTP
10. Monitoring in Athena – Luca? + Shaun
11. TIM and firmware – Alan and Matt
- Don’t count triggered events in fixed frequency veto
 - Get TIM3C to CERN

12. Specify and buy Processors for analysis for the pit – John
13. Readout through SLink
14. IS speed issue – Alan is testing existing implementation
15. Database
