ATLAS SCT Macro-Assembly ROD firmware downloads
The ROD VHDL, Master DSP and Slave DSP binary images are collected here
for convenience. A set of images which work together will be
collected together in a "release", though there is no formal release
mechanism. The firmware will only work on Rev E and Rev F RODs
- earlier ROD hardware will no longer be supported.
November 2004
The most recent "release" has changes in two VHDL components only (Event
Fragment Builder and Formatter):
- Chip/channel checking algorithm modified to allow for case when
both sides of a module are readout through the second fibre.
- Backpressure mechanism in formatter completely rewritten to be robust
under all conditions.
October 2004
This brings together various changes in both the VHDL and DSP software:
- The event header now conforms to the ATLAS event format, version
2.4.
- The backpressure algorithm has been substantially improved.
- Master and Slave DSP code changed to cater for event header changes.
- Changes in ABCDConfig to make scans more robust (setChipVariable).
- A few other bug fixes.
June 2004
These versions were distributed with Release 3 (and 3.01) of the
DAQ. There are no major problems with the code for Macro-Assembly
work, though there are several known issues that affect the use
of the code in the Test Beam:
- The event header does not conform to the ATLAS format (and the
length word is incorrect).
- The backpressure mechanism has a number of bugs.
These versions are not generally recommended - if you encounter
problems we would not be able to help with debugging.
